Surrounded by dozens of shoppers, Jenny's Mom walked her into the center of the Kiosk and had her sit in the chair behind the counter. She then talked to the woman in charge, and then both turned to look at Jenny. Sally held her new sister's hand, and talked to Jenny trying to calm her down.

Look, we all know Dad is going to make this happen, and your only chance at getting by this summer is looking and acting completely passable as a girl. You're lucky that Mom is trying to help you because the alternative is that she just makes you wear a dress without the makeup. Can you imagine spending the summer looking like a boy in a dress? Start acting as they expect, and you'll get by without anyone knowing your secret. So, my advice is to go along with whatever Mom tells you, behave as one of her daughters, try to act appreciative, and play the part of Jenny.
