    ... today."

On the ride to the nail salon, Jenny sat in the front seat as nervous as she had ever been. His Mom thought she looked cute but the poor dear had no idea how to act like a girl.

Jenny was sitting there with his legs wide open and moving around uncontrolled. Mom decided it was time for Jenny's first lesson, parked the car, took a quarter from her purse, and placed it in Jenny's hand. Jenny took the quarter from mom's hand, as she explained its purpose.

"Sweetie, you need to learn that being a girl takes a lot more effort than just looking cute and pretty. Your movements and actions are just as important, and the way you're sitting with your legs spread open is not ladylike. We don't want to give the boys a view of your panties, do you understand?

Here, put this quarter between your knees and press them together. You will have to keep your legs tightly together to prevent it from falling. I want you to concentrate on sitting like this from now on, it will be good practice."

Millie and Sally giggled every time the quarter fell. Of course, the girls learned how to sit when they were young and found it amusing as the quarter fell a dozen times before Jenny started getting used to keeping her legs closed. Five minutes later Millie parked right in front of the nail salon.

An hour later the girls were sitting next to each other as the nail attendants were finishing up and painting their nails a matching red. She told the girl to put some cute decals on ...
    ... Jenny's toes as a treat.

The red toenail color matched the red nail polish they applied to the gel extensions they put on Jenny's hands, and was thrilled when she saw how feminine her hands looked with the longer red nails. Millie caught her smile and played along.

"Sweetie, your hands look so lovely with those new nails. Now you need to be careful with your hand movements. It might take you some time to get used to your nails that long, but you'll adapt soon enough. Your dad is going to be so happy when he sees how pretty they look."

Jenny was quiet and felt trapped but exhilarated at the same time. Being dressed and out as a girl was a dream and loved the feeling, but scared and nervous at the same time. The conflict within was real and troubling, and he was quiet and acting solemn when his mom snapped him out of his funk with a comment or a question. Hearing his mom or sister speak to him as one of them - a girl, brought him back to the reality that he was now Jenny, mom's daughter - a teenage girl.

The girls left smiling after their mani-pedis. Jenny discovered how much different it was with long nails. She had to be careful and make slower hand movements in order not to ruin her manicure.

Millie scolded her several times, reminding her to act more ladylike and to be careful with the new nails. She told Jenny that she would have to pay for any touch-ups out of her own money if she didn't start behaving like her daughter.
