... subject , "And you are going to camp out at the pond Dad," "Yes, I just want some peace and quiet," he replied, "No lawn to mow, no neighbors," "Well after we have had coffee I will follow you out there on the tractor, just in case it is a bit dicey through the creek," Drew told the elderly couple. "No need, the four wheel drive will get us there," answered his father. "That sounds like a good idea," said Mum as she patted Drew's hand, "Just in case, can't hurt." As they were turned to enter the house the fly wire door opened and Drew's parents got their first look at Dave. Drew's heart fluttered as Dave had shaved, his hair was clean and brushed back. He had selected some of his city clothes to wear, designer jeans and a perfectly fitting t shirt. He was in bare feet. Drew wondered if his choice of dress was for his parents or Tess, and then figured that Dave would have been proud to let Tess see him in clean farm work clothes. He had dressed to impress his parents. He was gorgeous. His face beamed a wide smile. "Mr. and Mrs. Bishop, I am so pleased to meet you," he said with genuine affection, "I'm Dave." And Tess is a beautiful person. You will both love her the moment you see her. She will be here soon. I hope you aren't in a rush to get out to the pond, I want you to meet her today," Drew answered. Dave tapped his foot on the inside of the screen door. Drew stood and pushed it open for him. Dave carried out a tray with the coffee pot, cups, milk, sugar and a plate with sliced fruit cake. He placed the tray on the table and poured four cups and handed them around. "So how has the first week as a farm hand been Dave?" Henry asked. "Well I've lost count of my trips to the silo. But it's great. Fresh air. Machinery that I new nothing about a month ago. It's a whole new way of life," he answered. "Ah I see the boys have given you the boring rubbish job. Sitting in the truck in the queue at the silo," Henry remarked with a smile. "You have to start somewhere Dad," said Drew.
