"I don't think I'm up to much of anything this morning i'm afraid," Candy replied, "but thank you for saying that," she whispered appreciatively.

"My pleasure mum," Daniel replied as he held her close to him in the warm safety of their shared bed.

"There is something we need to talk about later," Candy explained a little hesitantly as she took another slurp of water from the bottle, "but I think I need to get some more sleep, if you don't mind?"

"Of course I don't," Daniel answered, giving her a kiss on the forehead, "I'll go and get a shower and maybe give Louise a call while you rest," he said as he got out of bed and pulled on a pair of joggers and grabbed a tee.

"Tell her I said hello?"

"I will," Daniel replied, leaning down to kiss her forehead as she closed her eyes, "sweet dreams Mum," he whispered softly, before quietly leaving the bedroom so that she could sleep.

Daniel spent the next few hours doing a little bit of housework and relaxing on the sofa before calling Louise to talk for a while. He caught her up on everything that had happened at the trial, including his drunken romp with Candy the night before. She hung on every word and asked a lot of questions about Candy as they talked. Daniel smiled to himself, wondering if she had developed a little crush of her own, the thought of which made him throb in his trousers. Candy and Louise together? Now that was a hell of a ...

As the hands of the clock approached midday, he made his way into the kitchen to make some food, deciding on a simple salad so that Candy could have it whenever she woke up. After chopping up lettuce, carrots, celery, tomatoes, and cucumber, he added them all to a large mixing bowl with some spinach before whipping up a simple honey and mustard dressing. Taking a healthy portion and placing it on a plate, he topped the veggies with some strips of chicken, pumpkin seeds, bacon bits and finally a generous portion of the dressing. He was busy admiring his work when he heard feet on the stairs, walking out into the living room to meet Candy. She was wrapped in a dressing gown, yawning widely and stretching her arms wide when she reached the bottom of the stairs, draining the remnants of her bottle of water before noticing Daniel across the room. "Hi baby," she said, smiling warmly at him as she crossed the room to meet him. "Feeling better?" Daniel asked as he placed his hands on her hips, pulling her close.

"Much better thanks," Candy answered as she played with his fringe and looked into his eyes, "I'm pretty hungry though."

"Take a seat," Daniel instructed, "I just finished making us some lunch, you want some more water too?"

"Yes please baby," Candy replied, beaming at him, heart beating hard in her chest. It might seem simple to some, but the fact that he seemed to relish taking care of her was incredibly attractive to her. She knew deep down that they still needed ...
