... The firm refer cases to me which requires very delicate handling. As a private investigator, I can do things that JH&P cannot. Very rarely, we call on the special talents of LLP member to help in the investigation."
That raised more questions in both Sarah's and Jim's minds. "Theoretically at least, I could even become an escort," Sarah observed.
"Or me a gigolo?" Jim quickly added.
Rose intervened. "If you're thinking the firm is basically going to pimp you out for money, you're wrong. That's not what we are about. But I would be liar if I told you that such a scenario is impossible." Then she turned to her husband. "Sorry sweetheart, please continue."
"It's okay, sweetie." He smiled and squeezed her hand. That point needed clarification."
Through their interaction, Sarah and Jim could see that the black couple really did love each other.
Marc continued. "Usually, JH&P's clients who sell adult products such as sexy clothes, and leatherware, BDSM equipment, dirty books and porno movies can do so legally as long as they are sold only to adults. "Okay, so let's say we were willing to do an assignment. How is it possible for someone who works for JH&P, and also belongs to the LLP, to go take the time off when they have their regular jobs to do?" Jim objected. "We're paid to work. "If we're on one of these special assignments, we lose pay. And what about our benefits? And what happens to our current cases?"
Rose stepped in at its point. "JH&P deliberately builds redundancy into its business model. The firm works in teams. Team work ensures continuity for our legal services. If a team member drops out for some reason, the rest of the team takes up the slack and continues the work. If a team member is moved to another case, disruption of the work flow is kept to a minimum. The same principle applies when their are absences due to vacations, illnesses, family emergencies and so on."
The Coxwells glanced at each other, wondering why Rose as going off on a seemingly irrelevant tangent. They knew this already.
"If your absence is related to a special assignment from the LLP," Rose continued returning to the subject at hand, "staff in the firm are ...
