... got all we need to prosecute him."

    "How big?" Mallone asked.

"Big. Millions. I don't know how much is going to be recovered, but it was a lot. It was a good-size operation."

    "I want him, Kiki."

    "So do I." Narvaez affirmed.

"Get on this, fast." Mallone said, sounding terse. "Your Chief Hagen has been calling my office hourly, and making a pest of himself. Get him under control, then do your job. You need to bring me this Wilson character. We need him to have something to show, and get the section in the clear."

    "I will."

"Agent Narvaez, a word of caution..." Mallone said. "I need Wilson. Alive. I need someone to prosecute. Him, on top of the others you've collared will do a lot of good for us. How are the other leads working out?

"Pretty good." Kiki confirmed. "One was just a guy selling his mothers prescriptions, but the others are panning out, and I was able to snatch a ten-connection distribuidor directly. I've had two more give up their conexiones."

"Keep up the good work then." Mallone said. "It sounds like you are doing okay."

Agent Narvaez walked into the Chief's office at 8:54 a.m., without knocking.

She stopped short after entering when she saw the Chief wasn't alone. He sat there, behind his desk looking very not-surprised at her entrance. Across his desk sat a man in a nice three-piece black suit, who was apparently talking to someone on a tablet. Leaning against the wall was a black man in a suit, his arms crossed, ...
... and he was giving her a level look.

"Agent Narvez, good morning," said the Chief without standing. "Have a seat."

"Chief, I have a problem..." Narvaez said as she sat down beside the well-dressed man.

"Really. Just one?" asked the Chief.

Kiki didn't care for how he said that.

"Young lady, let me introduce myself," said the man next to her "I'm the mayor."

Agent Narvaez just looked at the man, sensing this wasn't going to go the way she anticipated.

"And this..." said the mayor as he turned the tablet around to face her. "...Is Congressman Neilsen."

She looked at the man on the tablet, with his meticulously combed silver hair, and silver eyebrows. She took note of his playful eyes.

"Agent," said Congressman Nielsen, in his surprisingly deep voice.

Narvaez looked from the screen to the mayor, then to the Chief. It wasn't hard to sense what was coming. All three men had very neutral looks.

"Agent Narvaez, let me again do you the courtesy of being blunt. Mayor, Congressman, jump in where you need." started the Chief after a moment. "All your operations have been halted, and your authority is suspended. We have the paperwork from three federal judges on the way."

"Why?" asked Narvaez, just as bluntly.

"Agent, as of this morning, we have three dead gang members... two from gunshots, one from respiratory failure, two officers in the hospital, one of whom will need reconstructive surgery... a block fire that this city will undoubtedly be made ...
