"Confidence is certainly important. And what about Jack, Emma? What can he improve on?"

Emma glances at Jack, her cheeks burning. "He...he was very gentle, and he listened to what I wanted. I think he did really well and I don't really have any, um, criticisms."

Jack feels himself blushing as well, embarrassed by the praise but also aroused by Emma's words. He looks at her, hoping she's being honest, and not just trying to make him ...

"Well," he says, "I think I could have been more assertive when we were talking about boundaries, and making sure we were both comfortable with everything." He looks at Emma, wanting her to know that he's learning from this experience.

"Another question," says the teacher. "You are probably feeling a mixture of intense emotions, too. Would you describe them to us?"

Emma bites her lip, debating how honest to be. "Well, I...I feel embarrassed, of course. And a little nervous because everyone's watching. But I also feel...excited, and, um, a little turned on." She looks down at her lap, blushing even harder. "It's kind of hard to explain."

"And none of this is affected by the knowledge that you will in all likelihood get pregnant today?"

The teacher's comment catches both of them off guard. Emma's eyes widen at the teacher's blunt question. "Um...I'm not sure. It's...I mean..." She looks down at the floor. "Of course I'm scared of getting pregnant," she admits in a whisper. "What girl wouldn't be? This....my whole life is going to be affected by this, and I...I mean, Jack seems like a really nice person, but we don't know each other at all. And...and now we're making a kid together? It's so surreal and terrifying, and I'm so, so afraid of having to raise the baby alone because I don't know if I can give it up for adoption."
