I chuckled softly, "No. As I said earlier. I'm here because part of my family was being threatened. You both seem like good people who unfortunately work for a piece of shit boss. I've got nothing against you and I'm not looking to hurt either of you. I'm just looking to get her out safely."

He seemed to accept that and got up. "I think they have extra boxes in the storage closet." he offered. "I'll grab a few and meet you at your desk."

Debby nodded her thanks and they took off in different directions.

I grabbed my phone and dialed a number.

"Det Juarez, here."

"Thanks for the back up." I said sarcastically. "Where are you guys at?"

"I'm out in the parking lot waiting to see if you need my help."

"Parking lot? You standing in the parking lot in not what I call suitable back up especially when I needed you in here."

"Mr Coats, I know I am your liaison with our department but I am not your personal police protection."

That was the wrong thing to say at the worst possible time. "So let me get this straight. You receive a call of a young woman in potential danger. Of possible physical and sexual assault and YOU decide YOU are not my personal police protection. Do I have that correct?"

With that I hung up.

Mr Loudmouth laughed. "Ahh, what's wrong? The police didn't believe your story so they only sent one cop?"

"Before you laugh too much, ask yourself this. Why did the Chief of Police assign me a liaison officer in the first place?"

He quit laughing as he slowly wrapped his head around the realization of what I asked him.

Seeing his reaction, I continued to glare at him as I continued. "After I have my lawyer review the contracts, I will be in touch with your partner. Whether or not I advise Debby to sue this company and you personally for sexual harassment, work place harassment and terroristic threatening depends on several issues.
