I grabbed Kelly's attention and told her to go check on Debby. She took off down the hall heading the same way she had disappeared. I stayed where I was watching Debby's former employer, daring him to move. A couple of minutes later and Kelly stuck her head around the corner letting me know the entire staff was ready to go.

A couple of minutes later my phone rang. Caller ID told me, not too surprisingly, it was the Chief. The phone call was brief. He told me the Detective has been reassigned to a position more suitable for his skills and if I had time tomorrow, I could select the next Liaison Officer from the candidates he had. Debby looked as if she was about to break down so I pulled her into my lap. Once she made it to my lap she did break down and started crying. I told Kelly to get us home. Once we got home, Debby ran to Tammy and clung to her like a lost kitten. I moved us all to the family room so we could all talk about what happened. What I found out made my blood boil. Before Tammy and I came into the picture, Mr "Loudmouth" Davis had already discovered Debby's submissive side and was using it against her, both professionally and personally.
