... Shortly before eight, the front door opened and I held my breath. The anticipation was killing me. For some strange reason, I started getting hard.

I heard the hostess say, "Yes, Table 7. Right this way, ma'am." She was here. My imagination was going wild, picturing what I thought she'd look like.

The hostess rounded the corner and behind her was April. My sister was supposed to be my date. What the hell?

She only hesitated a split second when she saw me seated in the booth. She quickly glanced around and then slid in across from me.

"Well, this is awkward." She picked up the menu and looked around the room again. She didn't seem to be as agitated about this as I was.

"You think?" I was also scoping out the room, searching for anybody who might know me or her.

"You are the cutest shade of pink right now." She was trying not to smile behind her menu.

"Yeah, I bet. You look great, though. Mom?" April looked amazing. Her hair and makeup were flawless. I had never seen the dress before, I suspected it was new because she rarely wore one.

"YouTube helped with the makeup. She did my hair. I thought you gave up dating apps?" She toyed with a strand of hair as she scanned the menu.

"I might have been a little dishonest about that. Hey, it could be worse. I could be Dad." I couldn't take my eyes off her. She was absolutely gorgeous.

Her laugh made a few heads turn. "True. That would be really awkward."

The waiter showed up just then to take our order. ...

... She added a glass of wine at the end. As soon as he brought it over, she sipped it until he was out of hearing range.

"I guess we need to have a little talk." Her eyes searched my face over the top of her menu.

"Yeah. Mom and Dad will probably think this is hilarious, we got set up on a date with each other." I sipped my iced tea while she toyed with her wine glass. When did she become an adult?

"Yeah, about that."

"About what?" I had gotten lost staring at her face and wasn't paying attention.

"Let's not jump the gun on that. I wasn't kidding when I said we need to talk, Paul."

"Okay. What is there to talk about? The app had no idea we're related. Unfortunately, you were my only match." I really wanted to laugh about that but it only made me sad.

"That's part of it."

"Seriously? Not you, too?" There was no way in hell I could be her only match.

"I started with ten, you were the last man standing." I couldn't tell how she felt about that development, I couldn't see anything below her eyes behind the menu.

"I was up to three for about a day. How could I be the only match?"

April waved her now empty wine glass at the waiter, who left with it and brought her another. "That's what I wanted to talk about. We seem to have a lot in common."

"Apparently. I don't remember walks on the beach and pina coladas as an answer but -"

April glared at me. "There were other answers we had in common. Some of them were almost word for word."
