... "It'll be okay," I murmured close to his ear, trying to put reassurance in my eyes for Mia as well. "Look how calm Robbie is. It'll be okay."
Even as I spoke Robbie reached under Cam and appeared to loosen his trousers. He and Dr Chazel pushed his waistband down slightly and looked at each other with clear relief.
Robbie glanced up and gave me a nod as he spoke with Cam and helped him kneel awkwardly. He and Dr Chazel helped Cam stand as I relaxed my grip and pulled Frankie to his feet. He raced forward immediately, reaching for Cam.
I heard Cam mumble reassurance to Frankie as Robbie held up Cam's phone. It had been ripped open.
"Jesus," I muttered. "How bad?"
"I need to clean it up," Dr Chazel advised me. Speaking clearly with a hand on Frankie's shaking back to reassure him as well. "No stiches, it's not very bad."
I looked at Mia and Robbie. "Can you help them? I'll be along as soon as I can."
"Yes of course," Robbie got them all moving inside and I quickly directed the hovering crowds to go and wait in the bar area and settle down ready to make themselves available to the police. Reassuring them that Cam wasn't badly hurt.

Dr Chazel nodded. "Yes, we are done. Cam just needs to change into these clean clothes one of the dancers has loaned him."
I looked at the worn sweats and T-shirt and grinned. "I guess we can forgive you for dressing down just this once, Cam." He smiled, his chin resting on Frankie's head, who was slumped against him. "Are you okay?" I asked, more seriously.
"A small cut only," he told me. "A scratch really."
I gripped his shoulder briefly. "Scared the shit out of us all. We're going to meet the police at the hotel later, but for now settle Frankie down and join us when you're ready, okay?"
He nodded, and I hustled everyone else out of the room.
The atmosphere in the room was concern and excitement, not the good kind, but when Frankie and Cam came in they got a massive round of applause and Frankie seemed almost shy, which was unusual for him.
He couldn't take his eyes from Cam, but it didn't seem to be fear. More awe. I pondered as the noise level rose in more normal conversation as to what had ...
