... Bullies usually won't.
He came back and shook his head. Good riddance as far as I was concerned.

Tuesday late morning was bright and sunny as a small crowd made their way up the steps of the building where the ballroom was located.
I was looking forward to the official closing lunch and presentation of awards.
The atmosphere was cheerful as people called greetings and congratulations to each other. Despite the fierce competition, the environment of the Paris competition, in my experience, had always been encouraging and supportive.
I was chatting with Manon and Amelia, smiling hello at Dr Chazel and one of the administrators waiting ahead of us, when there was a shout followed by a scream from behind me.
The steps were just off a busy street and I turned, confused to see people shouting and running, and two police officers yelling and running towards the steps.
Then my eyes tracked Milo Green. He was charging up the steps, heading for the small group of Robbie, Cam, Frankie and Mia who were just below me. He was gripping a knife.
I barely had time to register this before Robbie, yelling a warning, blocked Mia with his body, and Cam grabbed Frankie, who was looking my way, and spun him.

"Stay still, Cam. I'm going to move you flat on the steps," Robbie said clearly. Meeting my eyes as I gripped a still baffled Frankie under his arms. At Robbie's nod I pulled and half fell onto the step behind me, Frankie falling into my lap.
"Oh my God, he's bleeding," Frankie cried and started to struggle. I linked my arms tight around his waist and held him against me. Mia gripping his hands and hugging the two of us.
"Wait, just wait," she told him, pinning him.
We watched as Robbie calmed Cam, who was trying to speak and turn to see Frankie.
Manon was dealing with the police, as Milo was dragged to a car which had zoomed up, sirens blaring. Thankfully, I had fully updated her on Milo's bullying actions of the day before, so she knew as much as I did. Kirsty had her arms around Lea, who had partnered up with Milo for the competition, having done the previous two months on the circuit with him. She was crying and looked shocked.
Frankie started to tremble violently in my arms and I squeezed him harder, ...
