... to see how this thing goes when it is in traveling mode," Dave said to him. Dave climbed down from the cab and put his helmet on, started his bike and followed Geoff at a distance. He saw Geoff stop at the fence and raise the plow out of the ground. The two outside sets of plow discs folded upwards so that only the middle third of the trailing machine was now parallel to the ground and the whole contraption was supported on four rubber tired wheels. All this was done and Geoff had not left the comfort of his cabin. Now the giant tractor lurched forward and Dave heard the engine revs change as it shifted gear, first, second, then third. The four sets of dual wheels threw dust up in a plume as it powered along the track down to the access road. Dave sped up and passed Geoff keeping a reasonable distance between himself and the tractor. When he reached the gate he turned left towards Drew's place and then pulled up. He ran over to close the gates so Geoff would not have to stop. As Geoff slowed and negotiated the turn he waved to Dave. He then increased the power again and headed towards his farm house. Dave secured the gates then headed of towards his new home. He would also need a shower and a change of clothes before lunch. Drew met him in the kitchen and asked, "Could you give me a hand to carry this out to the fire and get it turning?" "Sure," Dave replied and then proceeded to tell Drew all about his ride and the drive he'd had of Geoff's tractor. They set the meat turning ...

Their guests were due at around one o'clock. At twelve thirty he took the potatoes and corn parcels out and cleared a place in the one end of the trough holding the glowing coals. He placed the vegetables in there to roast. As he straightened up he saw Geoff's 4wd pull up outside the rear gate. "That's looking good," Geoff said as he pointed to the rotating sheep, "It smells even better." He hefted a large cooler from the back seat and carried it up onto the veranda. "I might just have a drink or two this afternoon," he said as he opened a beer, "Do you need a hand with anything?" "No, sit down and relax." Tess now appeared through the back door. "Hi Geoff. How are you?" she asked. "I'm fine thanks. Can I get you a drink? I hate drinking alone," Geoff asked. Tess pulled up a chair in the shade and replied, "Yes please, there is half a bottle of white wine in the refrigerator." Geoff went inside and returned with the bottle and a wine glass. He poured some then placed the bottle in the ice in his cooler. "There you go gorgeous. Cheers!" he said and clinked her glass with his bottle. "Cheers," Tess replied. "How have the boys been treating ...
