... great. I'll take the meat out of the freezer." He hesitates, trying to remember something. "Oh, I almost forgot; Bob confirmed that they're coming. The roads from Ottawa are fine. He'll park in a parking lot somewhere."
"Okay. He knows Montréal as well as I do. I'm not worried. We'll be there within the next couple of hours, Dad. Love you."
"Love you too, Mathieu. See you soon." Jack's happy; his youngest sounded so happy.
He gets the steaks and the meat out of the freezer. He's whistling one of the jazz tunes he often plays; he does that whenever he's happy. He is, because his youngest is.
Back at the office, Karl is shovelling the access to the side entrance. He looked at the front door and decided to let the snow removal contractor clean it out.
An hour later, the big fellows get inside to get warm and to take a break. The tractor started to overheat. It wasn't made to clear out that much snow. They can smell the delicious coffee being brewed; Mat started the coffee machine a few minutes ago. After leaving their coats and boots at the back entrance, they dash for the lounge room.
"Wow!" Karl exclaims his surprise. "Where'd that come from?" He asks Steve.

They both burst out laughing. After that, sports take over their conversation and their friendly arguments resume. They love teasing each other about the misfortunes of their hockey teams and arguing about everything concerning them — who's got the best goalie, the best scorer, the best defenceman, the best strategies, and so on — thus cementing their friendship.
"Mat," Steve calls as they make it upstairs. "Time to take a break."
Needless to say, they cleaned up the large plate of croissants, muffins, and yogurt in short order.

Karl's looking at Mat's father and his brother, Bob. They are huge guys, like himself.
"Another burger, please!" request a young boy, not even four feet high, standing next to Karl and pulling at his pinafore.
"Coming right up, sir," Karl confirms in his low growl, looking down at the smiling little boy.
The kid starts to laugh. "You're funny. You talk like a big bear I see on TV sometimes."
"That's because I am a big bear, and sometimes when I'm very hungry..." He bends down and drills his eyes into the boy's. "...I eat little boys like ...
