... halfway home and I could tell that by the way Cassie was fidgeting in her seat she wanted to say something but was having a hard time doing it. "What do you want to say?" I asked. "I was... well... I was thinking... can we stop and get some stuff to make dinner... pasta and a bottle of wine?" She asked. "Sure. Why were you worried about asking about that?" I asked with a small chuckle. "Because that was only part of it... I will cook dinner, but I want to eat dinner with Andrea, please." She quickly blurted out. I felt my breath escape me and at the same time my plus rose. First because Cassie was asking me to get dressed up, but more because she had used my girl's name. I was trying to figure out how she knew what it was because I was positive, I hadn't told her. "Uh... I don't know. That is a big step." I responded as my mind continued to race. "Did you ever get dressed up and spend time with mom?" She asked. "Only a few times and most of those were right before the accident. We were still trying to find a comfort level. I am not good with makeup. I just started that after your mom died." I was surprised to say that, but I felt a little defensive about hiding in the house. "Hmmm... still... I think it would be so much more enjoyable if Andrea got to spend time with others. I could help you with your makeup." Cassie offered. I recoiled a little again at hearing her use my female name. I still wasn't sure how she knew it. I was pulling into the grocery store parking lot, so I didn't respond. If I was honest, I was excited about the idea of being dressed in front of someone else and her offer to help with my makeup was enticing also. I had hinted to her mom that I wanted her to help but she never offered. We parked the truck and got out and the conversation stopped. Cassie gave me a big smile as we walked towards the store, helping put my mind at ease. I had been worried about how her knowing about my crossdressing was going to affect our relationship and so far, it hadn't felt like anything had changed. We quickly gathered what we needed for a basic spaghetti dinner with a salad and bread and grabbed a couple bottles of wine. I knew I was over thinking everything, but it made me happy that this felt normal. Cassie and I had always been close and shared a bond that was a little unusual for a father and ...
