... hurt you.' I say softly, 'I just want to know what happened.'

'You're fucking with me, right!?' She shouts.

I shake my head quickly in response.

'No, I promise. No.' I say as I gently rub the woman's shoulder. As I did so, my touch seemed to help her calm down. I watched as her breathing regulated.

'You really don't wanna hurt me..?' She asks.

I shake my head in response. As I did so, her eyes begin to fill with tears and she lunges forward. She wraps her arms around my neck, pressing her body against my bosom.

'I-' i start as I'm taken aback by the action, only to realise I should make the woman feel safe.

I gently stroke my hand down her back. Within my arms, I could feel true fear within the woman. She had been fearful for her life. And there was only one thing that realistically could have happened. I breathed in deeply and understood that Kat was more than likely correct. 10-1 had probably done something horrible to this woman.

And so, with confidence in my chest, I asked the woman what he'd done to her.

'He used... his power.' She said with a shaky voice. 'I couldn't control my body... I was like his puppet.'

I didn't respond just so the woman could speak freely.

'He made me take pictures. Blackmail pictures. He controlled me to take them. And then he...' she continued, only to start crying again. I could have put two and two together from there.

'It's ok, you don't have to say anymore. I've heard enough.' I say. The woman looked up ...

... to me and wiped her eyes clean. She quickly regained her composure and pulled back away, standing to her feet.

'I'm.. erm... so sorry. I just...' she struggles to look for the correct words.

I stand up and shake my head.

'No, it's ok.' I reassure her with a smile, 'What's your name?' I ask.

'Er... Dinny.' She responds.

'Alright. Well, Dinny. I can't make promises but I'm going to try to make this all alright.' I say with a heavy confidence in my tone.

It wasn't for another few minutes until I left the store. The words we exchanged were some of reassurance.

As I exited, Kat was waiting outside. She looks to me and shrugs her shoulders as both of us acknowledged how correct she'd been.

'I'm sorry, Lila...' she says.

'It's fine.' I reply, 'Just sucks to find out your childhood hero is a literal piece of shit.' I continue.

There was a short moment of silence.

'So what's the plan..?' She asks.

'Well. I'm meant to be going into QD for a tester session. Do you mean to tell me that they're probably all going to pieces of shit..?' I ask.

'I can't say for sure. But yeah, that place is probably a cesspool of the most depraved people on the planet.'

'Then... maybe this Is why I was given these powers.' I say as I gesture away from the store, implying to Kat that I wanted to leave.

'Are you serious..?' Kat asks in response to what I had implied with my words.

'I need to see it for myself. But if they're all like 10-1, then we can't let ...
