Like Prometheus

Warily you wander Much fonder to believe No conjurer can deceive Your heart cast in stone Alone, your defenses Inured by pretenses I cannot resist And insist that you yield To the magic I wield I cast an eye So wry, to be your foil Like a snake, you coil I lie in wait To sate your smolder If you would be but bolder I watch you rise So wise to my wiles You will truck no denials Like Prometheus, poised And crazed by desire You would steal my fire Against any rule Like a fool at odds You would affront the Gods To take what you covet I love it... to be The fire that you see (c) 2014 - Bethany Ariel Frasier
