... was greeted by a familiar voice.

"Hayley!" Mia shouted excitedly, throwing her arms around the angel.

Hayley had never touched Mia before, not like this, at least. She was so warm. She smelled so sweet. In her shock, Hayley forgot to hug her back. Mia didn't seem to mind at all.

"Bella was telling me you might come! I'm so glad to see you."

"I...yeah. Y- you too!" Hayley stuttered out.

"Oh, and these must be your roommates!" Mia turned her attention to the two girls standing excitedly behind Hayley, both of them looking like they were trying to stifle laughter.

"I remember you from that night you picked up Hayley. Mel, right?"

"Melanie, yes."

"And that means you're Sophia, right?"

"That's me!" Sophia said, beaming, "Hayley's told usall about you, but I don't think she's ever mentioned your name."

Hayley felt like she was on fire, wanting nothing more than to run away and hide under her covers.

"Oh, has she? That's so sweet. My name's Mia."

"Ugh, that's such a pretty name. And oh my god. Your hair is absolutely stunning! Hayley's described it before but it's even more beautiful in person."

"Oh my gosh, thank you. You're both gorgeous, I see why y'all three get along. Let's see, you're a firefighter, and you're..." Mia studied Melanie with curiosity, "...an orange?"

"A pumpkin," Melanie held up her stem defeatedly.

"Oh, how cute! I love it!"

"What...um...what are you?" Hayley squeaked.

"Oh, me?" Mia took a step back, ...

... displaying a white pinafore atop a light blue, bell shaped dress, and a black ribbon headband. "I'm Alice! I don't really like to wear those costumes that show too much skin, y'know?"

Hayley nodded with a smile, suddenly feeling self-conscious in her short skirt and see-through top.

"Stop. That's literally such a cute outfit," Sophia chimed in, her mouth agape as she looked Mia up and down.

"Aww, you're a sweetheart." Mia swatted the air. "Let me show y'all around. The rest of the girls will be super happy to see you! I think most of 'em are here. I was hoping you'd bring Charlotte with you."

Hayley felt her chest tighten. "Char- w- why?"

"Oh, I'm just teasing since you two are usually the ones that don't come out too often. I invited her but I know she doesn't get along with the rest of the girls all too well. Frankly I don't get it, I love talking to her."

Hayley breathed a sigh of relief. "Uh...y- yeah. She's...she seems alright...just shy."

Mia led the three of them around the frat excitedly, stopping to talk to each girl on the track team and introducing Hayley to a wide assortment of new faces. Hayley wanted to spend all night with her, but so did everybody else, it seemed, so it wasn't long before Mia was whisked away and Hayley was left outside, someone anonymous calling her name to play a game of beer pong. At Sophia and Melanies request, Hayley agreed to play. As the game progressed, more and more inebriated frat bros gathered around the table, cheering ...
