Part 2: A long drive for sake

Sakura had never felt so conflicted before. She had only been in California for a year and now she found herself drawn to several men she liked all in one day. Brian, her funny and kind-hearted co-worker, had just ravished and dominated her at work leaving her mesmerized. He was not the typical type of man she would be attracted to, but their surprise sexual encounter at work had her rethinking the joys of sex. On the other hand, the three groomsmen she had just met and flirted with were exactly the type of American men she envisioned being with and they all swept her off her feet with their charm, wit, and attractiveness.

As she left work that evening, Sakura couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement as she thought about seeing the three men, and in particular Max. She had never felt so drawn to someone before, and the way he had flirted with her at the tuxedo shop had left her feeling giddy and lightheaded.

But as she walked towards her car, she saw Brian leaning against the car, waiting for her. "You sure you don't want any company tonight at your private fitting?" He asked.

She shook her head no, curious why he asked her again.

He looked dejected, and Sakura knew that she had to face him and have a conversation. "Hey Brian," Sakura said, approaching him slowly. "I'm sorry if I hurt you by agreeing to go to the groomsmen's house tonight. We talked about it and I feel strongly about seeing through on ...

... commitments. It really shouldn't take a long time and I know how to take care of myself. I will be fine, I promise"

Brian shrugged, looking down at his feet. "It's not that, Sakura. I just...I... I like you and want a chance to take you out on a date. I know you thought those men were attractive but you also have a potentially good thing here... I just wanted to tell you how I feel."

Sakura's heart sank. She had suspected for a while now that Brian had feelings for her, but she had never wanted to acknowledge it. She didn't want to lose him as a friend, and she also knew that she didn't feel the same way about him.

"Brian, I care about you a lot," Sakura said softly. "I need some space to figure things out. I would like to take you up on that date but I can't let our amazing sexual experience define us - not right now. I'm sorry."

Brian nodded, looking up at her with a sad smile. "I figured as much. It's okay, Sakura. I just wanted to tell you how I felt before you left.... You did say the sex was amazing though?" His eyebrows lifted and a large smile widened across his face. He feared the thickness of his chode might have scared the small Japanese girl off as it did to many girls he liked before her. It was a relief that she wasn't scared off and that he still had a chance with her.
