I wish I was there to watch that night. I wonder what positions they did it in, and how many times they went. All I know for sure is, Nicole slept until the afternoon. When she finally texted me, there was no point even trying to make up explanations why she slept so late. Fortunately Darren was playing with Ida in the other room, so we could enjoy some quiet texting.

"Morning sleepyhead ;)" I texted.

"You're not mad?" she texted back.

"I'm excited," I texted. "Thought Darren might do something, but no idea you'd sleep all morning."

"Did you WANT us to have sex?" she texted. "Is that why you said we're a good couple?"

I answered with emoticons.

"It was nice seeing you all!" Darren shook my hand again.

I was afraid things might be awkward, but they were perfectly natural.

(Much later, I learned Nicole wasn't the first ex to sleep with Darren with her husband's knowledge. In fact, she wasn't even his first baby-mama to do that!)

"Keep in touch," said Nicole. She gave Darren a chaste peck on the cheek.

Darren whispered ...

... something to Nicole and she nodded.

"Bye!" Nicole and I walked to the car hand-in-hand, with Ida holding my other hand.

That was five years ago. We have three beautiful children now, all fathered by Darren. No more couch-surfing unfortunately, that couch would have to go on for days! Our oldest boy was conceived that night I just told you about. Nicole was super worried how I would react, but when she finally gathered the nerve to tell me, I was elated. "We're going to have another baby!" I said, and embraced her.

"You're not upset that Darren is the father?"

"Darling, it's like I said that night." I kissed her. "You and Darren are a beautiful couple. It's an honor to raise your beautiful babies."

We keep in touch with Darren and we all visit periodically. The other day Nicole was talking on the phone where she THOUGHT I couldn't hear her. Well, I COULD hear, even though she was talking low. I couldn't believe my ears! They were talking about making a fourth baby! They were brainstorming ideas about how to convince me. I think I'll play innocent and see what they come up with (leave a comment if you have any ideas!). But the truth is, I'll be THRILLED for Darren to impregnate my wife again!
