Theo twisted to look up at the giant's tan human guise. Paris stirred without opening his eyes. "Yeah?"

"We could restart research into *you*. Since we locked your powers away, we never added any kind of... off switch. There may be a way to give you a zeroth gear, letting you have totally non-magical sex."

"Uh, that would probably be useful. Not that I'm looking to add a Baseliner to the boyfriend list but it would be nice if..."

Paris opened his eyes with a grin. "If I could whore you out all I wanted? Agreed. But, Sky, how would that work? You talk to Ambrosia?"

"It's unlikely I can wake her from the stupor but we can modify the path of crystals and her environment."

"Wait," Paris said and sat on up his elbows, his abs tightening in the motion. "Could someone *else* do that, too? Xaphan? Is that a security risk? An enemy... breaking into Theo?"

Sky's head dropped back against the wall as he frowned. "Now that you mention it. I find it highly unlikely but I'll devise a way to prevent such a thing. I'd have to tie various permissions to trusted parties. Theo, is that 'boyfriend list' you mentioned a real list? Men you can trust to ...

"We'll talk it over with-" Paris stopped as his phone beeped. He grinned at the screen. "Our lovely undead roommate got straight As."

Theo pumped the air. "Fuck yes. Tell him he's a genius."

"It's high school for dropouts, not the Science Olympiad."

"Be nice to the kid. He did so much work to keep his video game privileges. Tell him I'll play co-op with him."
