... still rang clearly. Ivy? The crowd murmured to each other as the girl walked out on stage. She wasn't wearing as much of the makeup she usually had on and was dressed surprisingly normal - her typical chains and straps exchanged for a simple black suit. She looked smaller than usual walking out onto the stage, her typical careless hunched posture now coming across as meek and timid. By the time she'd made it to the center of the stage, the whispers of the crowd turned to mocking laughter, and then boos. Ivy took the microphone and stood by the podium, attaching it to the stand as it sounds of the mic adjusting bumped through the speakers. "Shut the hell up, all of you!" She yelled. The crowd quieted a bit, but this only served to make a few of the jeering students stand out more clearly. "Get off the stage!" "Nobody cares!" "What a nerd!" Watching from backstage, it was hard to feel at all sympathetic for the girl. Especially not after the way she'd treated Sylvia up to this point. By the time Ivy could get off stage, it looked as though she had fallen into a trashcan - sticky bits of trash attached to her sleeves and hair. She ran past Sylvia without so much as looking at her. The principal came back out to admonish the crowd for throwing things, but it was clear from his way of speaking that he didn't want to come across too harshly lest the wave of trash continue on him. He got their affection back by setting up for the prom king and queen, telling them that the votes they'd been making through the night were finally tallied up and the winners had been selected. Sylvia didn't bother to watch the foregone conclusion - her gaze turning to the filthy girl who simply ran towards a back exit meant for trucks to load and unload as she slammed the door shut behind her. When her attention went back to the main stage, she saw Elizabeth and Some Guy walking up to the center, the crowd still parted in the middle where it had let them through. A few of her lackeys ran in front of the couple, clearing garbage off the stage to make room for the two as Elizabeth pretended to be surprised. Sylvia wished the garbage would start again. It was for ...
