"Of course your participation in this is entirely voluntary, should this method of ours be too new for your liking, yet I assure you we are the best teaching hospital that there is." Taking a second look at Jenny, I decided to concur.

So, with my consent to this 'tour,' this strange 'induction' session, the doctor said that he would "start me off," confirming that this was Jenny's very first day.

"Theoretically," he went on, "this new program we're launching, should have students like Jenny able to examine themselves, able to learn as they teach in this synergy of education, but, as she is new, this can't be done yet."

"Now Jenny," the good doctor went on, "remember this is critical. Do tell us about yourself and what you do."

"Um, my name is Jennifer ---, and I'm 21 years old. Currently I'm enrolled as a second-year student at Palmer College, as you know, um, hoping to practice medicine eventually. Um, I come from a small family with no siblings, have never taken prescription medication. And, furthermore," here she seemed to add with pride, "I'm not currently seeing anyone romantically and have not been sexually active."

The doctor interrupted, "Jenny, you must be honest for these sessions to work. Remember, you need to relate to the patient. As we both know, you've been taking birth control -- I wrote the prescription myself. Additionally, I find it hard to believe that a young girl like you has ...

... not been sexually active, at least to the extent of self-stimulation. You must be honest as a patient if you expect honesty from your patients.

And so, Jennifer admitted to the prescription, before humming and hawing through details of her practice for those moments in which no man could be found.

"Oh yeah," the doctor then said, as if forgetting about something. "And there's that speech for the tour!"

Thus, Jenny stood up and, trying not to stumble over her words, said:

"Hello Mr. Aloysius Jones! Welcome to Palmer College Teaching Hospital, where we take pride in being the only hospital where students learn by being model patients. My name is Jennifer, and I will be your tour guide for today."

Here she paused.

"As I undergo this complete physical examination, um, please know that I am 100% committed to serving you."

Here she paused again.

"Feel free to ask any questions you may have; no query is too personal. We believe in hands-on learning, so don't be shy!"

And here she paused even longer:

"At Palmer College Clinic, we are yours to explore!"

When she finished her speech she looked as if she could hardly breath, her cheeks were flushed and her head clearly racing.
