I took a sip of mine and then moved in and gave each of them a light peck on the cheek before grabbing a chair myself. Watching the way she attended to Jim, I knew that she was good. Lila really needed the stability of a home and family, and I hoped that she'd allow us to be that for her. All of these things needed to be said aloud, but that would wait a little longer as she seemed to love attending to Jim's pain.

After they each took a few more sips of coffee, I suggested, "How about a nice hot shower to get us all loosened up and ready for the day?"
