... Daniel. No real hardship. Lisa had said he was a puppy dog if played right. He was honest and faithful, too. Lisa had lived rent free for almost two years before moving out to live with her boyfriend. Daniel had been right about Ruth; she and her predecessor were alike. In fact, they were friends. Ruth knew all about Daniel, and the arrangement he’d made with Lisa. She knew all along he was the answer to her prayers - if she could ensnare him. “Job done,” Ruth whispered, hugging herself. Daniel returned, wet from a shower, with a huge, fluffy towel wrapped around his waist. He smiled at Ruth as she squirmed naked on the bed, the sunlight bouncing off her pale skin and golden hair. “You really are an angel,” he sighed. “Same time next week? Shall we make this our day?” Ruth nodded. “Sounds good. You’ll find I’m an excellent tenant, Daniel.” “I dare say. I was wondering, Ruth, would you, er…would you like to go out sometime? Dinner perhaps? Or a club? I’m a member of some excellent clubs.” “I’d like that,” she smiled sweetly. “Very much. Of course, I’ll need a new dress.” Daniel caressed her arm. “Naturally.” “And shoes.” “Let’s not forget the handbag,” he added, jovially. “I’ll see that you have some spending money. Look after me and I’ll look after you.” “I know you will.” Ruth planted a kiss on his cheek. Her day couldn’t have gone better.
