... go somewhere. There's a place on the corner of third avenue. They do awesome breakfasts."
"No, I want to cook for you."
Again I was reduced to cleaning up and helping. Daisy took over. I imagined her on one of those TV cooking shows. Bossy little bitch pushing everybody around. She might not be a proper chef, but she already had the attitude. The food was of course incredible, and then we needed to walk. Shifting those calories was going to be tough.
We strolled and shopped. The shopping was fun, and I found myself buying lots of silly things I didn't need. Daisy though had a ball. She loved it, trying on all manner of outfits.
Lunch, a ride out to the statue of liberty, which Daisy had never seen.
Back home, after a wonderful afternoon. It was impossible to resist the pull of bed. We made love, talked, made love, cuddled. Then without warning. Sleep took us. I couldn't ever remember feeling so content. So in tune with another person.
The visit was over way to quickly. I found myself impossibly trying to hold back the tears that streamed relentlessly down my cheeks. Nothing to do but wave at the bus. Daisy's face pressed up against the cool glass of the window.

High ceilings, original windows to keep that much needed authenticity.
Over the week, she sent many photos of the gardens. She had been busy. A mountain of pulled weeds piled up.
"Please, come down this weekend. Stay with me." She pleaded tearfully over the phone. "I need you, I can't do this on my own."
The grounds around the house were so overgrown, there was no way you could just mow them. We needed a contractor. Daisy arranged to be there the whole weekend, and when I rolled up the driveway. The contractors had clearly already been.
The grass either side of the long driveway had been cleared and mowed. The grassed areas around the house had been mowed. All the weeds removed.
Even with that, it was impossible to hide the beast that lay dormant. The house needed a good clean. That had to be the first step. Cleaning.
Daisy emerged from the front door screaming wildly. She was in my arms the moment I jumped out of the car.
"Oh my god. You're here." She panted breathlessly. Her mouth crushing mine in a passionate body shaking kiss.
As we parted, she smiled. "I can't believe you're here. I waited and waited. It was painful."
Glancing around, I tried to ...
