I was so shocked at the conclusions I was coming to and my inability to see it sooner that I just blurted out my realization.

"You did all of this?!" I asked in a way that was more of a statement than a question.

"I'm sure I don't know what you mean." she replied in that overly innocent tone that makes one sound more guilty.

This got me thinking details, and once again my mouth just threw out my conclusion as soon as I'd arrived there.

"The bet!" I exclaimed in surprise. "Was that even their idea?!"

"I may have suggested that." she admitted with a sly smile.

"But I wasn't even coach then!" I objected, suddenly doubtful of the narrative I'd constructed.

"Weeeeell," she began, kind of rolling her eyes. "I may have known the coach was leaving, and I may have had an undue influence on the new hire seeing as how I'm the faculty sponsor of the field hockey club, and I may have sucked off the head Master and thus been able to basically hand pick the next coach."

"How did you know I'd take the job?" I asked pointedly.

"Please!" she scoffed, lightly tapping my arm around her chest.

I had to admit she may have known me better than I knew myself because I didn't know if I'd take it, I did have me doubts, but somehow she knew.

"But what if..." I began, suddenly thinking of another possible problem, but she cut me off.

I was so completely blown away by these revelations that for a moment I was dumbfounded.

As my voice returned I slipped my hands up to grasp her wet breasts, giving them a friendly squeeze.

"Goddamn!" I responded humorously. "I'm lucky that you're on my side."

"You don't know how right you are tigar." she chuckled in reply.

For a little while we laid in the water together in silence, but then she said cryptically, "Now it really is all up to you."

After a moment I had to ask, "Pardon?"

"Well you know that Sabine wants this." she began patiently. "And you clearly want it too, but is that a good enough reason?"

"What?!" I demanded, perplexed by this sudden change in attitude.

"I mean if your kid wants ice cream for dinner every night." she explained thoughtfully. "As fun and delicious as that sounds you don't just give it to them because you're the adult and you know better."

"So you don't think that I should do it now, after all you've done to make it happen?" I asked, completely flabbergasted.

"I didn't say all that." she corrected me gently. "I just wanna make sure you've givin this due consideration. Once it's done it can't be undone."

"So could I just call the whole thing off?" I asked in disbelief.
