"I see," Chelsea replied. "Thank you for telling me."

Chapter 16

Connor had a smile on his face as he sat behind the wheel of Lance's F450 Super Duty. Lance was twenty yards in front of him, riding the Harley back to Sophie's. The pick-up's 6.7 litre turbo diesel engine was stupidly powerful for the L.A. streets but Connor could totally see why Lance had bought it.

When they arrived back at the house, the girls came out to greet them. Chelsea was still dressed in a white fluffy bathrobe and she threw herself at Connor the moment he got out of the pick-up, kissing him passionately. Connor was flattered and couldn't help undoing the robe to touch her bare flesh.

"Did you have fun last night?" he asked, running his hands over her skin.

"I had just the right amount of fun," she replied. "How about you?"

"Just the right amount too."

"Good."

Connor noticed that Sophie and Lance seemed particularly amorous also. It looked like it had been a good night all round.

"You fancy coming on the back of my bike?" Lance shouted across to Chelsea, joking.

"Thank you, but I've promised Connor that he can take my biking virginity," she joked back.

"Fair enough," Lance replied.

"Can I talk to you?" she whispered to Connor.

"I think I know what this is about," he acknowledged.

Sophie, knowing what was going down, steered Lance onto the deck while Chelsea and Connor sat on a sofa in the living room.

"Sophie offered me a job as her ...
    ... personal trainer," Chelsea began.

"She did say she wanted to ask you. If nothing else you should be flattered," Connor told her.

"I am and a part of me wants to take the job, but a part of me is worried about giving up my job at the gym and another part of me is worried about what it could do to us."

There was a lot there for Connor to respond to.

"I understand it can be scary giving up a job you enjoy," he began. "There's always a risk that things don't work out with any new job, but I think you were meant to do more than take classes at a gym."

"Thank you for having confidence in me," Chelsea said appreciatively.

"Didn't you tell me that your ideal job would have been training Lewis Hamilton? I know Sophie's not a racing driver but she's the Lewis Hamilton of her profession and opportunities like this don't come along very often. Personally, I'd say it was worth the risk."

"But what about us?" Chelsea asked. "I've only just moved in with you and I feel like we're still getting to know each other. Sophie said she'd be willing to train in S.F. some of the time, but I'll have to go to L.A. too. And when they start filming I'll need to travel with her."

"I don't want to stop you from getting your dream job Chelsea. I think we can survive a bit of time apart. Besides, I understand the studio is looking for extra financing for the film anyway. I might be interested in investing and that way I'd be an executive producer on it."
