My parents and grandparents had all been happily married until one of them died. Nobody within three farms of us had divorced or cheated that I knew of either. Country folk are less hedonistic and immoral than those in the big city, and we’re becoming kinder and more tolerant too. They used to be scorned and even outlawed, but things were improving for gays and lesbians.
