... "It's okay. It'll be okay," I murmured, rubbing my cheek on his head which was on my shoulder.
Robbie was stood, stiff with shock. "Just how serious is this?" he asked, breathlessly.
"I love your brother," I said firmly, and wrapped my arms tight around David's waist as he gripped me, whispering, "I love you too."
It was the first time we had told each other.
Robbie turned away, and David half cried, "Robbie!"
Robbie turned briefly, "Just shut the fuck up. Let me think." Then he stalked over to the window and stood glaring out.
Like a couple of naughty kids, David and I slunk into the kitchen and sat on two stools. Thighs touching, fingers entwinned. Watching Robbie and waiting. After five minutes, David disengaged and switched the kettle back on. Making three mugs of coffee and silently placing one on a shelf near Robbie before coming back and sitting back down, reaching for my hand again.
We all drank our coffee in silence, Robbie included. It was twenty minutes before he turned. I suspect most of that time was trying to rein in his temper.
He was clearly furious, and I swallowed down my instinct to make a joke. To be fair, it really wasn't funny.

He pointed at both of us for emphasis. "No one. NO ONE. Ever finds out about this. It didn't happen. Am I clear?"
We both nodded.
"If you are really so committed you'll get by. And when you 'accidently meet'. David will run past Dad that he wants to start something with an ex-patient, and you will abide by Dad's decision." He glared at David.
"I'll abide by his decision, that he's fine with it, or I leave the practice so I can be with Armenia," David said firmly.
Robbie didn't look happy at that, so I spoke quickly to prevent them getting into it again. "May I ask a couple of questions?"
Robbie sighed despairingly, but then motioned at me like 'Why the fuck not!'.
"Do you want me to resign from the Paris competition?" I squeezed David's arm to be quiet, as I could tell he was going to protest.
"No," Robbie admitted, grudgingly. "You're a good judge and it will be the last time I take part."
"Thank you."
He shrugged irritably.
"Does you knowing about us put your licence at risk?" David gasped in shock at my question. His fingers tightening painfully on mine.
"I really don't know," Robbie admitted. "Which is why you are going to actually treat me with some respect for a change and honor my ...
