... dithered over that pink skirt!) I had another big surprise. Mom had booked me into her salon and while she and Maureen went off to do some food shopping I had my hair done, my nails polished and some beautiful lash extensions added. I put on my new jacket which went well with my jeans and white tee, and also put on the earrings and necklace. As I looked in the mirror I could not believe how good I looked. I loved my eyes and, although the makeup was a little heavy, my skin looked perfect. I wanted to look like this forever, but the day was almost over! I should have known that my moms had not finished with me. Instead of driving home we stopped at an Italian restaurant for something to eat. The rather dashing waiter sat us at the best table right in the window and Maureen told me it was so we would attract customers. I laughed. Mom asked if I had enjoyed the day and told me that I was born to shop and had nothing to fear for the next few weeks as I would just fit in perfectly! After some expert advice I was managing quite a steady catwalk stroll down the hall and back. Mom and Maureen fussed over me, brushing my hair, straightening the clothes. Maureen, who was quite accomplished in using the camera on her phone, took some beautiful pictures of me with my lashes, hair and nails all looking amazing. One picture was so gorgeous I simply had to make it my new Facebook account profile picture! Social media - I could finally post a picture I was proud of - and I needed a back story which took a little time to put together, but I was glad I did it as it would prove to be a great help in conversations as was the 'fact' that my phone and socials had been hacked and all deleted. The next day I seemed to be forever changing, trying out looks and just generally getting accustomed to all the differences in how you performed everyday tasks when you were a girl. Long hair, heels, nails, tights, skirts and jewellery all changed the way you did things and not having pockets was a real inconvenience! There was also the matter of deportment and maintaining my softer, more feminine ...
