Abigail, who was seventeen, was returning from college and knocked on the neighbour's door as she was staying there tonight because her parents were away. She was in her sixth-form college uniform of a green and white check short-sleeved gingham dress, and it was summer so she was wearing white ankle socks. The door opened and Abigail smiled and said, "Hi, Mr M."

Malcolm smiled as well as he replied, "Hi, Abigail, come in."

Malcolm normally worked from home, although travelled on occasion, and was married to Hanna; Malcolm was thirty-one and Hanna was twenty-nine.

Abigail stayed in her college uniform as she did her homework sitting at the dining table. She was using Malcolm's computer and when she had finished her homework, she thought it would be fun to check the history.
