... seriously. Not her visions, but the girl herself. This was obviously important to Terra if she'd gone to all of this trouble. Haden might think witchcraft and visions were silly but that didn't mean she didn't like Terra. “Okay. So, what were these visions about?” Terra winced. “Some of it's vague or blurry or confusing. Some of it is personal and I don't really want to share it with you. At least not yet anyway. But here's what I can tell you. I started having visions of a pretty blonde woman about six months ago. No one specific and I couldn't even see her face. But I think it was you.” “Go on,” Haden put her hand on Terra's leg. She could see that Terra was a little shaken up. “They were all pretty vague until the night before I met you. Then I had this one where you, where the blonde woman was in trouble, sort of. I don't know. I just got this feeling of urgency. Then I met you and it all kind of clicked!” Haden gave her a kind smile. “Is that why you kept looking at me sort of oddly that night?” Terra blushed. “I'm sorry about that. In fact, Haden thought, Terra reminded her of someone. A redhead. A celebrity maybe. But she couldn't quite put her finger on it. “Haden?” “Sorry. Go on. I was just thinking.” Terra gave her a strange look and then continued on. “I'm not trying to pry here or get in your business. And I'm so sorry for having just shown up on your doorstep. But the things I know for sure from my visions are that we're destined to become close and that you're going through something really big right now. Something that you're trying to manage on your own, something you think you have to do by yourself. But I think I'm supposed to help you.” The girl pulled out a scrap of paper from her purse and a pen and began to write. “This is my phone number. I promise I'm not going to stalk you any more. You won't hear from me again unless we're both out with Jules. But if you want to talk or you need someone for something, seriously, please, call me. I promise, nothing you say will shock me and I will be totally discreet, okay?” Haden was a little unnerved. But everyone's going through private things in their lives. This is how scam artists fool people into believing in those television psychic guys, Haden thought. There's even a phrase for it, she remembered. Cold reading. A supposed psychic makes general guesses that could apply to anyone and then asks ...
