Laying there, I listen to her breathing even itself out. Her heart is beating quite fast still, but it's calming down. "I love you." Rin says. "I love you, too." I say back to her. In seconds she passes out from exhaustion. I chuckle under my breath. I bring my head back down on Rin's chest, listening to her breathing again. Her heart is calm now, but I hear something that strikes me odd. It sounds fast and erratic. I almost mistook it for Rin's heart, but my ear is pressed above her heart so I can hear it beat within her flesh. The second heartbeat has my mind reeling. It couldn't possibly mean... Could it? Rin and I hadn't been having sex that long, so it shouldn't already have a heartbeat. But it did, and that could only mean one of two things: vampire or hybrid. I take a closer look at Rin's body. Where there hadn't been one earlier, there is now a small hump of Rin's stomach. I place my hand over the mound, feeling something small and round.
