Cheerleading is Hard Work – Part One All throughout her young life, 16 year old Jessica was quite the athlete. As a kid, she played soccer and swam on her middle school team. Her brother Matt was a year older and had played football for his school team since was in junior high. For a few years, Jessica dreamed of being a high school cheerleader. All of Jessica’s friends were friends with the football players, and Jessica wanted to become a cheerleader, as this was her only chance of scoring a football player boyfriend. All of the other girls were tall and beautiful, and had much more experience cheering than Jessica had. She watched the girls at first, learning the routines, which wasn’t so difficult for her. She was extremely flexible, and agile, and her intelligence gave her an edge over the other candidates, because she learned quickly. She was extremely social too. Everyone liked her. Girls wanted to be as pretty as her, and boys wanted to date her. While the tryouts were going on, Jessica took careful notice of how the other girls were performing.
