The driver's area was walled off in the same beige crushed velvet, but with a heavy curtain made of the same material as the bedspread covering the narrow passage between the two seats. It was like a little motel room on wheels. "Uh huh," Mom observed while managing a knowing smile, "how convenient." Gigi smiled back at her, asking, "Would you believe it just happened to be in for a steady bearing?" "No," she replied. I laughed with everyone else as he and Dave helped her through the open doors and up on the bed. Once they had her inside on her spread knees, they started unbuttoning her blouse the rest of the way while Carrie removed her shoes.
