I wouldn't have believed I could have been more crushed, but this revelation was more than I could accept. "No! You're lying!" I protested! "How could that be true? That isn't possible.!" Tears were running freely down my cheeks and I was again racked by uncontrollable sobs. "No one could do that!" Circe sighed, as if she'd seen this before. "You are not the first to be here. We took three more girls like you on this trip alone. You may never have heard of the Circle, but it is an ancient order and it is made up of the most powerful men in world. They control entire countries, including yours. There is very little they cannot do." Circe stood with feline grace. "Eat and get yourself together. Marco will see you soon. It is time for you to meet the others." A spasm of fear rocked me at that, and then, with dread filling my heart, I asked the only question that truly mattered anymore. "Will I be raped again?" Circe turned and responded quietly, as if it were nothing at all. "Of course. Marco is is a slave, but he is a man. He will take what he needs from you, just as he does from me." With that, she turned and left me alone with my despair.
