Back from the future

My eyes confirmed what all the silent sensors were telling me, there was no sentient life left at all. All there was was a long blackened planet, devoid of any form of being that could be described as life. I fruitlessly checked the coordinates again. I was definitely in the right system, this was Earth and there was nothing left of it really. It looked like it had been long ago destroyed. By what I did not know but I knew enough not to hang around too long. I did a final sweep of the planet and set course for a distant star system, out of the way of anything. Somewhere I could regroup my thoughts. I had been so excited about the thought of coming home to 25th Century Earth after my long voyage of discovery. It had been an extremely successful voyage, one that would have changed the shape of Earth's destiny and future beyond doubt. No though, there was nothing left. I had been sent off into deep space to explore and chart and make contact with distant planets. Little did I know then how successful I would be! I had met an alien race that had befriend me and given and made for me technology that was beyond even the wildest imagination of anyone back on earth in the 25th Century. All I had done was save a space craft full of their elders and I could do no wrong! But this is all another story for another time! The Jogany had supplied me with my space craft I was in now. ... Stone Age of the 21st Century. The craft was me. Simple. It was a part of me. I thought, it reacted. There was no need to physically fly her, I just thought and it did it. It was almost an organic part of me. Of course there is much, much more to it than that simple trick, much more sophisticated tech than that. The computer was the most advanced ever, able to do practically anything, including time travel. Not that I had tried out that aspect yet! Much more will become apparent as this tale goes along... I dropped out of hyperspace, not that I needed to as the craft had fuel for the next million years at hyperspace speed. Yup, one million years! Then all it need to refuel was a lump of organic matter. Dropping out of hyperspace made it last even longer! I sat and though about my next moves... The computer pulled me out of my thoughts. 'It's obvious what you need to do now.' It stated. 'Enlighten me?' I asked 'You are the last human alive, apart from anyone else who was off planet that is. We should use the time travel and go back in time and find you some company. You will go mad if you just have me to talk to, I'm far to intelligent for you to be with alone for ever.' The computer thought very highly of itself indeed! 'I'll think about it.' I said Think I did. It was not such a bad idea. I would have to be careful though.
