... have seen in a long time, from both a critic AND an average movie fan's point of view. So finally after the movie ended, both Iris and I decided to meet up at the local IHOP about a few blocks from the movie theater. There, we both discussed the film in general. First, she asked, "So on a scale of 1 to 4 stars, how would you rate this latest action movie?" "I give it a three and a half," I replied. And then she asked, "Could you elaborate?" "Well first off," I said, "there was a lot of action and a lot of shoot 'em up sequences. However, the plot was a little slow at first." "And what's the other example you can tell me" she asked. Then I answered, "The other thing would be that the movie should've been more of an 'R' rating instead of a 'PG-13', because of the stronger language and some brief nudity." "I agree with you on the second one Jeff," she said. Then she added, "But as far as the action goes, it was a little too violent. But you're also right about the story plot being slow at first." "So how would you rate the film then?" I asked. Then she said, "About a three and a half, plus two thumbs up!" "Just like Siskel & Ebert, huh." I said. "Exactly," she said. ... Iris said. "We'll see a romantic comedy this time. Okay?" "Sounds good," I said. Then she said, "Okay then, it's a date." So Then, she gave me a kiss in the lips like she was trying to steal one from me- not that I mind. After I saw her leave to go to her car, something struck me as strange. It's like I've seen her in the newspaper many, many times before. So after I got back home to my apartment, I went to read the paper in the entertainment section. And sure enough, one Iris Lancaster came up on page 2E. Iris Lancaster has been rating and discussing TV shows and movies for about six years now. She might have done this for ten years, as an amature and a professional. So the following week, both Iris and I met up again. That's when I said to het, "I know who you are. When I opened the entertainment section of the paper, I saw your name next to your picture. You're Iris Lancaster, aren't you?" Then she pulls me to the said and aaid very quietly in my ear, "Right you are Jeff, but I don't want to have my cover blown." "How come?" I asked. Then she said, "One of the rules of being a regional film critic is to never blow your cover and always and dress incognito. This way you don't draw attention to the wrong people. Certain people hate critics." "Okay, I'll take that into consideration," I said. So we both went in, got our tickets, got our drinks and then found a couple of seats. Once again after we were both seated, we pulled out our notepads and pens right as the movie was about ...
