... will I know what to wear, then?" she asked. "Well, I will be wearing a suit, so you can use that as your guide. Dress nicely," I told her. Saturday evening came and I showed up at her house at 5:00 like I had told her. I was dressed in my three piece suit and I had picked up some flowers on the way over. I rang the doorbell and heard her "Come in" over the doorbell intercom. "Hello, Tracy?" I said as I came in the door. "I'm in the bedroom. Have a seat I'll be right out!" she called from the back of the house someplace. I went ahead and stood by the couch and waited for her. She came out a couple minutes later. "Hi, sorry about that but I wanted to be ready when you saw me. I hope this is all right for whatever we are doing?" she said. Tracy was wearing a stunning full length halter-top dress, dark blue in color, with an empire waist and a wide rhinestone-jewelled band around the waist where a belt would be. The dress was slit along one side up to the hip and she wore silver metallic CFM heels. I stood there looking at her speechless. "It IS all right isn't it?" she asked again, snapping me out of my stupor. "Oh sorry, you look... damn! You are gorgeous Tracy!" I said, looking at her again. She paused for a moment and then took a deep breath. "No, I'm not allergic. It's just... it's been so long since anyone brought me flowers. I love flowers," she said. She turned around to face me. "Thank you, Rick. Thank you for being so sweet." I smiled at her. "Are you ready to go?" I asked. "Yes, just let me put these in some water first," she said, and went into the kitchen. A moment later I heard "Rick can you help me?" I went into the kitchen and she was struggling to reach a dusty old vase in the cabinet above the refrigerator. "I can't reach the vase," she said. I got it down for her and she washed it under the sink. "Shows how long it's been since it had a use!" she commented aloud. She put water in it and placed the flowers carefully in the vase, arranging them a bit. Then the vase went onto the middle of the table. "There. That is perfect!" she said, turning to ...
