Hoan had been driving for the last thirty minutes, and was out of Atlanta. He was quite assured that he would see no more trouble with his enemies on the way to Chattanooga. He was wrong. Hoan drove over a spike strip, and swerved out of control. As Hoan stopped the car on a grassy area next to the road, bullets came in from all directions. It was an ambush. Hoan got out of the car, and made his way behind a concrete divider. He got up for a second to let out a few shots with his Colt AR-15, but quickly had to duck back down to avoid the incoming hail of bullets. Hoan was trapped! Then, he heard the sound of hoof beats. Rich and the group came riding in on horses, mostly from Hershel's farm. Hershel was there as well. He had used a fake head to fool the governor during the attack on the prison. Daryl came in riding a horse named Buttons, who had never been killed at all! They were well armed, thanks to Merle's run to Bass Pro Shops, and quickly defeated the federal soldiers. Hoan thanked them, and they then agreed to ride to Norfolk. Hoan said good bye to his friends, and continued on his journey, being on foot for the time being.
