I was distraught when you first left me, I cried myself to sleep. I couldn't tell which way was I was going, As I headed off through a burning desert sun. I found I was never sleeping, No matter how many times I counted sheep. I can't say you never wanted me, Because I am pretty sure you did. I loved you and you loved me, But things were stolen away from us. You disappeared swiftly, Came back under a pseudonym. Within you I saw something beautiful, Something I could not give up on. I like to know people, Especially people I like. So that is why I cannot cut away, Stop my pursuit of you. You are my only oasis, Only from you can I find myself refreshed. But not because you are to be my lover, But because within you, I see hope.
