    It was early December and already the city centre is buzzing with people frantically shopping , those who aren't are already enjoying the festive season by hitting the bars early. I see them from my apartment window before joining the less interesting group and wrestle through the shopping centres for gifts ..... Hours pass , before I know it , sun has set and the neon lights of my favourite bars and clubs light uo the city tempting all who pass . Drink does not seem to tempt me tonight as I approach my apartment door with keys in hand , suddenly I hear a noise a group of young women laughing down the street I glance round but see nothing , suddenly temptation creeps in , &#034I'll only be sitting in alone watching TV&#034, I think to myself before I know it the gifts have been thrown into my cupboard and I am in the nearest bar .... I nurse a whiskey for about 10 minutes ... as I look around the bar seeing all the old d***k men and their questionable partners , my glass swiftly empties and I hunt for a more interesting atmosphere . I approach a karaoke bar , I know that's not to everyone's taste but hey this was only my second bar of the night , few whiskeys in I'm on stage singing my usual songs by buble and the rat pack when I see a young blonde peer round a column at me , we stare at each other briefly before she is gone again , I finish the song and the bar loudly applaud filling me with good enthusiasm to carry the night on .
