It was February, 2012 as Michele and I planned a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Our lives were hectic, but our marriage was wonderful and our sex life had taken on a new dimension as described previously. Cabo was an easy flight from Southern California and the perfect quick getaway for some much needed fun and relaxation. The anticipation built, when we found our plan complicated somewhat by an unexpected work assignment. It was a complicated commercial real estate transaction in which a competing law firm committed serious oversights, threatening the entire deal. They were fired and my firm was hired to save it. And I was put in charge! Though I had already been working non-stop I found myself working even longer hours, including weekends. It was a huge responsibility for a Junior Partner like me, especially considering the other cases I had on my plate, but I accepted the challenge without reservation. And there was some great motivation. My firm has three Principals, led by first among equals, John Gross. Beneath the Principals are the Full Partners, including Ops Chief Larry Sullivan. Larry had taken me under his wing early and we always had a great relationship. He mentioned that he and the Principals were very impressed with my performance, implying that if this deal went well there could be a big reward coming. ... load the gun and we'll pull the trigger," he assured me. I trusted him like a father! I finished the preparations, briefed Larry and the others, then on Saturday I packed for Cabo. Michele and I arrived in Cabo on Sunday afternoon, immediately taken by the beauty of the locale and our luxurious accommodation. The next days were wonderful, highlighted by magnificent weather and desert beach scenery. We made the most of every day, getting plenty of exercise, sun, and fresh air. Often relaxing on the deck of the lounge at our resort in the late afternoon. The place was beautiful! The swanky, semicircular lounge had panoramic windows and a deck lining the outside. Both afforded magnificent views of the Pacific, the resort grounds and pools, and the harbor with its surroundings. The days passed quickly. Thursday arrived, the day the big deal was to close. After parasailing and swimming in the morning, then shopping in the early afternoon, Michele and I showered and headed out again at about 4:30 p.m. Michele put on a dress she had bought just for the trip. It was an olive green cocktail dress, sexy and summery - gorgeous with her honey-blonde hair, golden skin, and green eyes.
