I had expected that and I had given a great deal of thought about what I would tell her, as I needed to get this right. “Emma, yes, oh I don’t know, to be honest, I really don’t know,” and she shook her lovely head and then looked at me again.

“Have you always been bi-sexual?”

“No,” I said, truthfully, “I first kissed a girl about ten years ago.”

“And had sex with her?”

“Yes.” I didn’t think I needed to add that I had fucked her husband as well.

“And since then?”

“And she asked me to lunch next week at the café. Oh, Eddie, I am so excited,” and she quickly stopped and threw her arms around my neck and, on tip-toes, kissed me. “Thank you.”
