I need to know the stories that your skin can tell, whether I read them one letter at a time or take entire chapters in at once, the words don't need to be inked on paper. Write along my body all the things you cannot seem to put a voice to yet, fill the margins like it's the only chance you'll ever have to pass the story along. Even if I'm still broken in more than one place, even if I still seem like I may run, you can have all that I am, all that I can give and will one day become. Take me in after I come home from the raging storms, turning the world around us into whispering mist, columns of fog and bellowing thunder over the horizon. Warm my tremoring form tightly in your arms, and never let me run from you again. You can know the stories I keep inside, why you always make my mouth curve into a smile, the jagged pieces of me that others scattered when leaving, the heart beating against you as a beacon to hold me closer, to let our tears evaporate like nightmares we recall less with each passing night together. And I'll write along your body all the things I've been too afraid to find a voice for and pass along the story of. Even if I'm still broken in more than one place, you can have all that I am, take me in as the storms clear, as my form stops tremoring, your arms telling a story that will fill all the dark margins inside.
