... going on and he breaks the news to me. She may be cheating on me! What? He explains similar behavior from his ex-wife before they divorced. She had been having an affair and gave him the same sexual treatment right before he discovered what was going on. He gave me a whole list of things to check and what to look for that he found at a private detective site on the internet. It also had a list of things to do that helped you keep tabs on a suspected cheating spouse. I started checking her phone when she’s wasn’t looking and installed a key logger on her laptop computer. I began looking through the dirty clothes hamper and found she was wearing two pair of underwear a day. I hid an old ipod touch in her car and turned on the location services (GPS) to track the device. I watched where she was going over the next couple weeks and checked her true location against what she was telling me. It didn’t take long to figure out and confirm that she was messing around on me. Matt was a guy we went to high school with. She and I had separated for about 6 months 5 years earlier, but ended up working things out. After going through counseling a year after getting back together, she had admitted to me while we were separated that she messed around with Matt some. After talking through it, I learned she had sex with him regularly for a good part of the time we were split up. While we were both being honest and working through everything, she told me more about Matt. She was still having sex with him for the first couple months after she and I had gotten back together. She wanted me to know it was a confusing time in her life and she didn’t have any feelings for him. I was devastated, but felt I was taking the high road and forgave. Here we are 5 years later and I see that she’s visiting his apartment while I’m working or when she says she’s going shopping. I watch and confirm what’s going on over the next week and decline sex with her. She’s confused why I won’t touch her, but seems distant and doesn’t pursue the conversation with me. I’ve finally had enough and visit my attorney with my evidence. He lets me know what my options are and I give it some thought.
