Despite her seething anger and contempt, he readily agreed with her, apparently only hearing that she was coming back to him. Glaring at him as her whole body shuddered, she explained: "From now on, I will fuck any man I choose; anytime and anyplace, do you understand?" His eyes were glazed over as he nodded enthusiastically, not really hearing her threat. He suggested they go across the street to a popular club for a few drinks after dinner. The DJ kept the music going, loudly and constantly. The bar was packed, and they waited for a server to take their order.
