On the radio each day Since you went away The songs are about you Just you, And they leave me blue. Those tunes and words We once shared and loved Now haunt me Only me, Because you’re free. After all the sweet lines The wind and strings The times we held hands Beguiled by the bands, Why leave for different lands? Like a bird on the wing You left to do your thing Leaving me alone Listening to our song, Why have you gone? I cannot find the reason Not in this season Or in any words or rhyme, I’ve run out of time You’re no longer mine. If I could write A love song About the girl I adore Love each day more and more, Would I get an encore? Or on the radio each day Would they still play Songs that make me blue Thinking of you, Oh so far away?
